The Citizen Promaster Sky Navihawk NK0040-58L and NK0044-57E are the same 40mm Super Titanium automatic platform in blue and black. Both use Calibre 8314, a slide-rule bezel, sapphire crystal and 200m water resistance. The choice is visual: blue with red accents, or the more restrained black execution.

Same watch, different level of visual noise
Both versions use a 40mm Super Titanium case and bracelet, but the dial choices change the character. The NK0040-58L uses blue with red accents, which makes the flight-instrument influence obvious. The NK0044-57E keeps the same dense scales in black, so it is less colourful rather than genuinely minimal.
The rotating slide-rule bezel is the defining tool feature. It can be used for calculations, but it also makes either dial busier than a conventional three-hand sports watch. If you will never use the scale, buy it because you like the look, not because an aviation calculation is waiting to happen.
Calibre 8314 keeps the specification straightforward
Citizen specifies automatic Calibre 8314 with 21 jewels, approximately 60 hours of power reserve, a date and a stated average accuracy of -20 to +40 seconds per day. The transparent screw-down case back shows the movement. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal and 20-bar water resistance make the exterior more practical than the instrument-style dial first suggests.
At 13.3mm thick, neither is a thin titanium watch. The benefit of Super Titanium is lower mass rather than dress-watch proportions. Citizen lists a 20mm lug width and a solid titanium bracelet with a double safety folding clasp.
Price and availability in the UAE
Citizen Germany lists both references at a EUR 599 recommended retail price including VAT. At EUR/AED 4.112197 on 8 October 2026, that is approximately AED 2,463.21 each. This is an indicative conversion, not an official UAE retail price, landed cost or discount.

The practical choice
Pick the blue NK0040-58L if the aviation theme should be obvious. Pick the black NK0044-57E if the slide-rule dial is already busy enough. Mechanically and dimensionally, there is no reason to pretend one is the better watch.
Verdict: blue for the theme, black for restraint
The NK0040-58L and NK0044-57E make the same case for themselves: useful titanium construction, sapphire, strong water resistance and a 60-hour automatic movement in a manageable 40mm width. The black NK0044-57E is the easier everyday choice. The blue NK0040-58L is the one to choose if the aviation styling is the point rather than something to tone down.
