Seiko’s HBC011 is the fan-selected Daytime Blue version of the Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver. It combines a bright blue wave-pattern dial with the existing 40mm case, 6R55 automatic calibre, 72-hour reserve and 300m water resistance. The hardware is familiar; the unusual part is that buyers chose the colour before Seiko put it into production.
Seiko announced the HBC011 on 26 August 2026 after a global vote held in July 2025. Four proposed dials represented the sea at sunrise, daytime, late afternoon and sunset. Daytime Blue won, so that is the version buyers will actually get in October 2026.
A public vote produced Daytime Blue
Seiko created the vote around the 60th anniversary of its first diver’s watch. The four choices were not four different watches. They were four colour treatments for the same modern 1965 Heritage Diver platform: Sunrise Orange, Daytime Blue, Late Afternoon Green and Sunset Red.
The winning dial is a bright, clean blue with a pattern derived from Seiko’s wave mark. A darker blue aluminium bezel gives it enough contrast to avoid becoming one uninterrupted turquoise disc. Silver-tone hands and markers keep the display conventional, which is sensible when the dial is already doing all the talking.
Seiko says the wave pattern was used on two 60th-anniversary limited editions and traces its meaning to the emblem found on the case back of the brand’s 1975 titanium 600m saturation diver. Here it gives the colour a reason to exist beyond “blue sells”.
The useful 40mm Prospex specification remains
HBC011 uses a stainless-steel case with Seiko’s super-hard coating. It measures 40mm across, 13mm thick and 46.4mm lug to lug. Those proportions are compact for a 300m automatic diver and should be easier to place on the wrist than the larger Prospex cases that made a personality out of overhang.

The curved sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on its inner surface. LumiBrite is applied to the hands, indexes and bezel, while a screw-down crown, screw case back and unidirectional bezel complete the expected diver hardware. Magnetic resistance is listed at 4,800 A/m.
Inside is calibre 6R55, running at 21,600 vibrations per hour with 24 jewels. It supports automatic and manual winding, stops the seconds hand for setting, and stores approximately 72 hours of power. Seiko’s stated daily accuracy range is +25 to -15 seconds. That is a practical three-day movement, not a precision claim wearing flippers.

The bracelet closes with Seiko’s solid, slide-adjustable three-fold clasp with secure lock and push-button release. That adjustment system is more useful in UAE heat than another paragraph about 1965: wrists change size during a hot day, while case-back nostalgia does not.
What actually matters The HBC011 is not technically new. It is a proven Prospex platform wearing the colour that Seiko fans picked, which is a more honest reason for a limited edition than inventing another anniversary and hoping nobody counts.
Edition size, price and UAE availability
Seiko will make 4,500 individually numbered examples, with 2,000 allocated to Japan. The global press release says sales begin in October 2026 through Seiko Boutiques and selected retail partners worldwide. Seiko’s recommended European retail price is €1,550, while the Japanese product page lists ¥199,100. Neither figure is a confirmed UAE retail price.
Seiko Middle East already has an HBC011J1 product page, but WristBear does not currently list the reference and has no confirmed local allocation or price. That distinction matters. A regional web page is evidence that the model is intended for the market; it is not a promise that a particular UAE retailer will receive stock.
If you want the same basic 40mm, 6R55 and 300m formula without waiting, WristBear currently has one active Seiko SPB545J1 1965 Heritage Diver variant in inventory as checked on 26 August 2026. Its teal dial and grey bezel are quieter. That makes it either the sensible alternative or the less fun one, depending on why HBC011 caught your eye.
The 1965 connection, without pretending this is 1965
The original Seiko diver introduced in 1965, often called the 62MAS by collectors, used an automatic movement and offered 150m water resistance. Seiko supplied examples to Japanese Antarctic researchers during the 1960s. HBC011 borrows the general design language, then applies modern materials, three-day power and twice the original water-resistance rating.
It is a heritage model in the useful sense: recognisable shape, current specification. Nobody needs to accept a vintage crystal merely to enjoy a blue dial chosen on the internet.
Decision
WristBear verdict: the vote produced the right kind of blue
The HBC011 is for buyers who already like the current 1965 Heritage Diver and want its most obvious blue dial. The 40mm case, 300m rating and three-day movement remain the reasons to buy the platform. The fan vote simply gives the limited edition a credible design story. Wait for it if the bright dial is the point; choose an existing 6R55 diver if availability matters more than being part of the poll result.
HBC011 is not yet listed by WristBear and no UAE allocation or local price has been confirmed. The maintained Prospex collection is the honest route for watches available now.
