HBC010

Seiko HBC010 Calmwater Green: European Limited Edition

Seiko has announced the Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver HBC010J1, a 1,400-piece European limited edition that gives its modern 62MAS-inspired diver a deep green sunray dial and gold-toned detailing. If the standard 1965 Heritage Diver is the sensible choice, this is the same sensible choice in a colourway that makes a better case for itself.

Called Calmwater Green, the dial is reported in launch coverage to take its cue from Austria’s Lake Hallstatt. The result is a dark green surface that should shift with the light, paired with gold-coloured hands, applied markers and bezel markings. It is a relatively restrained idea for a limited edition, which is probably why it works.

The updated 1965 Heritage Diver case stays

The HBC010 uses Seiko’s current 1965 Heritage Diver case rather than creating a new platform for the occasion. It measures 40mm across, 13mm thick and 46.4mm lug-to-lug, which matters more than the retro reference in the product name. Those are compact, wearable numbers for a 300m-rated automatic diver, especially compared with several older Prospex models that did not know when to stop growing.

The stainless-steel case receives Seiko’s super-hard coating and is fitted with a screw-down crown, screw case back, a curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on its inner surface, and a unidirectional rotating bezel. LumiBrite is applied to the hands, indexes and bezel. The official specification also gives the watch 4,800 A/m of magnetic resistance.

6R55 inside, 300m outside

Inside is Seiko’s 6R55 automatic calibre, with manual winding, hacking seconds, 24 jewels and an approximately 72-hour power reserve. Seiko states an accuracy tolerance of +25 to -15 seconds per day. That is a practical three-day movement, not a chronometer claim wearing a nicer shirt, and it is best judged accordingly.

Water resistance is rated to 300 metres. The HBC010 arrives on a stainless-steel bracelet with Seiko’s three-fold clasp, secure lock, push-button release and slide adjuster. Seiko Boutique UK also lists an additional black silicone strap, so owners are not forced to treat the bracelet as the only correct answer.

European-only, with a small pricing wrinkle

Only 1,400 numbered examples will be made, exclusively for the European market. Seiko Boutique UK lists a 1 September 2026 release date and a £1,500 price. Seiko’s UK product page currently shows £1,450, so that should be read as a regional listing discrepancy rather than a universal price. There is no confirmed Wristbear UAE price or availability at the time of writing, and it would be dishonest to invent one for the sake of a call to action.

The HBC010 is not a radical reinvention. It is the existing 1965 Heritage Diver formula, with sensible 40mm proportions, 300m water resistance and the 6R55 movement, then given a dial and bezel combination with more character than another black or blue option. For buyers who like the platform but want something less anonymous, that is enough of a reason to pay attention.

What to do if you are waiting for it

The HBC010 is not confirmed for Wristbear or the UAE at the time of writing. If you are shopping now rather than collecting browser tabs, browse the current Seiko Prospex collection or read our Seiko SPB545J1 Save the Ocean review for another 1965 Heritage Diver with the same 6R55 movement architecture.

Wristbear verdict: the HBC010 does not change the 1965 Heritage Diver formula. It gives a well-sorted modern Seiko diver a dark green dial, gold-toned accents and an honest European-only limitation. If you prefer the technical platform over limited-edition theatre, that is exactly the point.
