The Seiko Presage HCB006 turns Edo purple into a Cocktail Time GMT. Its radial dial is based on “Edo Murasaki,” an original cocktail created with Hisashi Kishi of STAR BAR in Ginza, while calibre 4R34 adds a practical 24-hour hand.
This is not a new movement or case architecture. It is a limited colourway built on a familiar Cocktail Time formula, which is either reassuring or a reason to inspect the details before joining the queue.
HCB006 is for buyers who want the Cocktail Time dial effect with a usable second-time-zone display. It is less suited to buyers who expect sapphire crystal, high water resistance or a compact dress-watch case.
The dial is the point
Cocktail Time watches are not shy about reflected light. HCB006 uses the series’ radial pattern beneath a purple finish, with a gold-coloured Seiko logo and GMT hand. The dial changes character with the angle, which matters more here than another line of anniversary text on the case back.
The cocktail reference is unusually specific. Seiko says the dial expresses “Edo Murasaki,” developed with Hisashi Kishi, owner of STAR BAR and a past winner of the International Bar Association World Championships. The theme is part product story, part Tokyo bar culture, but at least the watch and drink visibly correspond.
4R34 GMT, not a standard three-hander
Calibre 4R34 is automatic, supports manual winding and stores about 41 hours of power. Its independently readable 24-hour hand provides dual-time display, while the date remains at the familiar 4:30 position. The movement is visible through the screw-down display back.
This is an office GMT rather than a traveller’s GMT. Adjusting the local hour independently is not part of the movement’s feature set. For tracking home time or a second office, it still does the job.
Case and everyday limits
The stainless-steel case measures 40.5 mm across, 12.8 mm thick and 47.5 mm lug to lug. A box-shaped Hardlex crystal maintains the curved Cocktail Time look. Water resistance is 5 bar. There is no luminous treatment listed, which suits the dressier design but does not help in a dark restaurant after the bill arrives.
The watch uses a deployment clasp with push-button release. Seiko limits production to 6,000 pieces, with release planned for October 2026.

Verdict
HCB006 succeeds because purple already belongs on a Cocktail Time dial. The GMT hand adds more than a commemorative engraving would, and the case dimensions remain wearable for many wrists. The compromises are equally familiar: Hardlex, 5-bar water resistance and a 41-hour movement at a point where competitors increasingly offer more.
Buy it for the dial and GMT display, not because “limited” automatically improves the underlying watch. It does not. It just makes waiting too long more expensive.
