Quick take: Wako has made the SBGA531 as a 150-piece Grand Seiko Heritage Collection exclusive. The limited model takes its dial pattern from the tiled columns in the owner’s lounge at Grand Seiko Flagship Boutique Ginza. It is more architectural than poetic, which makes a nice change.
The stainless-steel case is a modern 44GS interpretation at 40mm, with a see-through back and 10-bar water resistance. Inside is Grand Seiko’s 9R65 Spring Drive calibre, self-winding with manual winding, a 72-hour reserve and stated mean accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. The blue power-reserve hand and crystal-edge treatment pull against the grey-and-navy dial, with a gold Grand Seiko logo as the final bit of theatre.
The SBGA531 comes on a steel bracelet plus a champagne-brown crocodile strap lined in navy leather. The sapphire back carries the lion emblem, WAKO LIMITED COLLECTION marking and individual serial number.
