Citizen AT8260-85X Adds Green to the H800 Chronograph

Short version: the Citizen AT8260-85X is a green-dial colour update to the established World Chronograph A.T platform. It keeps the 43mm stainless-steel case, H800 Eco-Drive radio-controlled movement, sapphire crystal and 100-metre water resistance. The green suits the technical dial surprisingly well. It is still a large, busy watch, and the radio-sync feature has an important limitation for UAE owners.

Citizen UK now lists the AT8260-85X beside the earlier white AT8260-85A and blue AT8260-85L bracelet models. This is not a new movement or a smaller case hiding behind a fresh reference. It is the same useful H800 package with a greener face.

NEW COLOURWAY

The AT8260-85X puts a green dial into Citizen’s established 43mm World Chronograph A.T case and bracelet.

What actually changed

The new part is simple: Citizen has changed the dial to green and assigned the AT8260-85X reference. The vertical three-register layout, applied silver-tone details, date window at three o’clock, steel bracelet and brushed-and-polished case treatment all follow the existing AT8260 formula.

That restraint is probably the right decision. The H800 dial already has a city ring, subdials, day display and several status indicators competing for attention. A full redesign was not necessary. Green gives it a different mood without asking the owner to learn a different watch.

What changed

  • The dial is now green.
  • The exact reference is AT8260-85X.
  • Citizen UK lists it alongside the earlier white and blue bracelet versions.

What stayed the same

  • 43mm stainless-steel case and bracelet.
  • H800 Eco-Drive radio-controlled movement.
  • Sapphire crystal and 100-metre water resistance.
  • World time, perpetual calendar and 1/20-second chronograph.

The H800 is the reason to care

Under the new dial is Citizen’s H800, an analogue solar-powered movement. Eco-Drive charges from light, while the radio-control system can receive terrestrial time signals from stations in Japan, the United States, Germany and China. Without reception, Citizen rates the movement to an average accuracy of ±15 seconds per month.

The movement also gives the AT8260-85X a useful list of functions:

  • world time across 26 city settings
  • a perpetual calendar through 28 February 2100
  • a 1/20-second chronograph measuring up to 60 minutes
  • day, date and 24-hour displays
  • a four-level power-reserve indication
  • about six months of operation on a full charge, or about ten months with power saving active

It is a lot of functionality for someone who wants quartz convenience without a disposable-battery routine. It is also a lot of dial furniture. Minimalists should probably keep walking.

The radio-sync caveat for UAE owners

The H800 includes a dedicated DXB city setting, so setting the watch to UAE time is straightforward. That does not mean Dubai sits inside a radio-transmitter coverage area. Citizen’s own H80 guide marks the Dubai setting outside the receivable range for terrestrial time signals. In practical terms, UAE owners should buy this as an accurate Eco-Drive world chronograph first and treat automatic radio reception as a travel feature where coverage permits.

UAE reality check: the H800 includes a DXB time-zone setting, but Citizen’s own guide marks Dubai outside the terrestrial radio-signal reception area. It will still run as a normal Eco-Drive quartz watch, rated to ±15 seconds per month without reception.

How large will it feel?

Citizen specifies a 43mm stainless-steel case and a matching steel bracelet with a push-button folding clasp. The polished details, broad bracelet and chronograph pushers add more visual weight than the diameter alone suggests. This is not the discreet option for a small wrist.

SIDE PROFILE

Stainless steel, not a small watch

The faceted crown, chronograph pushers and broad steel bracelet give the 43mm case plenty of visual mass.

Citizen UK’s current product page does not state the case thickness. The Plus9Time discovery post quotes 10.2mm, but we have left that number out of the specification summary because it was not confirmed on the manufacturer page or manual checked for this draft. A missing first-party number is better than false precision.

Price and UAE availability

Citizen UK lists the AT8260-85X at £499 as checked on 11 August 2026. That is a UK retail price, not a converted or confirmed UAE price. Citizen’s UAE store currently lists the older blue AT8260-85L sibling, but we found no official UAE page for the green AT8260-85X during this check.

WristBear also does not currently have an exact AT8260-85X product route. We are therefore not presenting it as available to buy locally. If the model reaches the UAE, its actual regional price, warranty route and stock should be checked again before this draft is published.

CASE BACK

A conventional solid case back and folding bracelet clasp keep the emphasis on the dial and movement functions.

Verdict: the best AT8260 colour, with one local catch

The green dial is the most interesting AT8260 bracelet version so far. It gives the busy H800 display more character without making an already complicated watch look even more chaotic. The movement is genuinely practical, the sapphire crystal and 100-metre rating are sensible, and Eco-Drive removes most of the maintenance fuss.

The buyer distinction is clear. Choose it if you want a substantial 43mm solar world chronograph and like the green dial enough to accept that radio sync is not a dependable everyday feature in Dubai. Skip it if you want a compact watch, a quiet dial, or a smart-connected time-sync system. Citizen has changed the colour, not the physics.

Current WristBear route: browse the Citizen Eco-Drive collection for models that are actually listed. The AT8260-85X is not currently represented as in stock.
