Quick take: Seiko’s new Presage Japanese Garden pair keeps the familiar formula: Roman numerals, textured dials and a deliberately visible balance. It is a dress-watch idea with a bit more theatre than it strictly needs. Fair enough.
HCB007 and HCB008 share a 41.8mm stainless-steel case, 12mm thickness and 48.3mm lug-to-lug length. Both run Seiko’s 4R71 automatic calibre with manual winding and an approximately 41-hour reserve. The front is defined by the open-heart aperture and textured Japanese Garden dial treatment.
Two colour directions
HCB007
Green textured dial, rose-gold-coloured case treatment and Roman numerals.

HCB008

Honest verdict: the HCB008 is the cleaner one; the open heart is still something you either love or tolerate. What do you guys think?
