Release brief
The SBGW325 puts Arabic numerals back on a compact Grand Seiko dress watch. Its navy dial and natural indigo-dyed strap are the point: a 37.3mm steel case, hand-wound 9S64 and approximately 72-hour reserve, rather than a new movement or complication. It is a 600-piece boutique edition, not confirmed WristBear stock.

What changes: numerals and indigo, not the calibre
The SBGW325 looks back to the SBGW003 of 2001, which introduced Grand Seiko’s first manually wound 9S movement, Calibre 9S54. The new watch keeps the earlier model’s Arabic-numeral idea, but uses the current 9S64. Raised indexes contrast with a deep navy dial inspired by Japanese indigo dyeing. There is no date window or extra complication to interrupt that layout.
The matching crocodile strap is hand-dyed using natural hon-ai techniques. An additional calf-leather strap is supplied; the official Japanese gallery shows the same watch with that alternative fitted. Those are two included configurations, not two different references.
A small diameter does not mean a flat case
The steel case is 37.3mm wide, 44.3mm from lug to lug and 11.7mm thick. That diameter is compact, but the box-shaped sapphire and case profile still give it visible height. The crystal has anti-reflective treatment on its inner surface, and the strap spacing is 19mm. Manufacturer dimensions tell us more than a generic claim that it will fit every small wrist; this is sourced analysis, not a hands-on fit test.

Manual winding and an honest water-resistance limit
Calibre 9S64 is manually wound, with an approximately 72-hour power reserve. The manufacturer separates its uncased movement test rate of +5 to −3 seconds a day from a normal-use accuracy range of +10 to −1 seconds a day. Those are different specifications, not interchangeable guarantees for an individual watch.
The Middle East and global manufacturer pages describe the SBGW325 as splash resistant; the US boutique table gives 30m. We use the conservative manufacturer wording rather than suggest that the watch is suitable for swimming. The leather straps reinforce its dress-watch role.

October launch, foreign retail price, no UAE stock claim
Grand Seiko lists an October 2026 release, and the Japanese official boutique specifies 9 October 2026. The worldwide edition is 600 watches, including 450 allocated domestically in Japan. Regional dates and boutique allocations do not establish UAE delivery or WristBear availability.
The official US boutique lists USD 5,800 for a new watch and currently shows it as out of stock. At the retrieved 4 October 2026 reference rate of USD/AED 3.6725, that converts to approximately AED 21,300.50. This is an indicative foreign-retail comparison, not official UAE retail, a landed cost, a discount or a WristBear offer. The Middle East official product page does not display a price.
Who it suits
This is for someone who wants a compact, manually wound dress watch with clear Arabic numerals and a quiet colour choice. Choose something else if swimming resistance, automatic winding or a bracelet is central to the brief. The edition count is a production fact, not a resale prediction.
For a different Grand Seiko release approach, read our SBGA531 Wako Heritage edition coverage: it uses Spring Drive and a steel bracelet, rather than this watch’s hand-wound dress format. If you want a currently catalogued alternative rather than wait for a boutique allocation, browse WristBear’s current Seiko range. Seiko and Grand Seiko are different catalogue routes; that collection link is not a claim that it contains the SBGW325.
