About this watch
The Seiko SBTR017 is one of the most popular models in the Seiko Selection collection (formerly known as the Seiko Spirit line in Japan). This JDM (Japan Domestic Market) chronograph combines vintage-inspired styling with dependable quartz performance. Its standout feature is the green sunray dial, beautifully complemented by gold-tone hands, applied hour markers, and chronograph accents. Three sub-dials display the chronograph minutes, running seconds, and a 24-hour indicator, while a date window between 4 and 5 o'clock and a fixed tachymeter bezel complete the sporty yet refined design.
The watch is housed in a 39.8mm stainless steel case with a comfortable 47.0mm lug-to-lug measurement and approximately 11.7mm thickness, making it suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes. A Hardlex crystal protects the dial, while the genuine brown leather strap enhances its classic appearance and provides excellent everyday comfort. The screw case back improves durability, and 100 metres (10 Bar) of water resistance makes it suitable for daily wear and recreational swimming.
Powering the SBTR017 is Seiko's reliable Caliber 8T63 meca-quartz chronograph movement, offering an accuracy of approximately ±15 seconds per month with a battery life of around 3 years. The movement features a 60-minute chronograph measured in 1/5-second increments, small seconds, a 24-hour display, and a date function, delivering reliable performance with the crisp chronograph operation characteristic of Seiko's meca-quartz calibers.
