About this watch
The Seiko HFL002P1 brings one of Seiko's most distinctive digital watch designs into a new generation. Inspired by the original 1982 Seiko Rotocall, this modern reissue features a bold octagonal case and rotating bezel that serves as the primary interface for navigating the watch's digital functions. The black inverted LCD display gives the watch a striking retro-futuristic appearance while maintaining the character of the original design.
At the heart of the HFL002P1 is Seiko's new Caliber A824 quartz movement, offering a wide range of digital functions. These include a 1/100-second stopwatch/chronograph, dual-time display, single-time alarm, timer functionality, rotary switch operation, battery-life warning and LED internal illumination. The movement provides approximately 3 years of battery life with an accuracy of approximately ±20 seconds per month according to Seiko's official specifications.
The watch features a 37mm stainless steel case measuring approximately 10.6mm thick, giving it a compact yet substantial presence on the wrist. The stainless steel bracelet is secured with a three-fold clasp with push-button release, while the display is protected by durable Hardlex crystal. A screw-down case back and rotating bezel further reinforce its sporty, retro-inspired construction.
With 10 BAR water resistance, the HFL002P1 offers considerably more everyday water protection than many vintage-inspired digital watches. Weighing approximately 108 grams, it combines solid stainless steel construction with Seiko's unmistakable digital heritage. For collectors and enthusiasts, the HFL002P1 is particularly interesting as a modern interpretation of the cult-status Rotocall, retaining the unusual rotating-bezel interface while adding contemporary digital functionality.
