The Seiko 5 Sports HDB010J1 brings together Japanese watchmaking and automotive-inspired design in a special collaboration with Honda's MOTOCOMPO. Originally introduced in 1981, the compact motorcycle was designed to fit into the trunk of Honda's CITY car. This watch takes inspiration from its unmistakable styling, incorporating the MOTOCOMPO's bright yellow colour and practical, functional character into a wearable timepiece. Produced as a limited edition of 8,000 pieces worldwide, it offers collectible appeal for fans of Seiko and Honda.

The watch features a vibrant yellow dial crossed by a black centre stripe bearing the HONDA logo. The word “AUTOMATIC” at the 6 o'clock position uses lettering inspired by the MOTOCOMPO logo, while the crown is marked “TURN,” referencing the motorcycle's fuel cock. Its compact 36.4 mm stainless steel case has a hard coating and is paired with a curved Hardlex crystal. LumiBrite on the hands and hour markers helps improve legibility in low-light conditions, while the day-date display provides everyday practicality.

Inside, the HDB010J1 is powered by Seiko's Caliber 4R36 automatic movement, which supports both automatic and manual winding. The movement contains 24 jewels and offers an approximate 41-hour power reserve. It also includes a stop-seconds function for more precise time setting and a day-date display. The transparent screw-down case back features a MOTOCOMPO silhouette, limited-edition markings and an individual serial number, reinforcing the watch's special-edition character.

The nylon strap continues the motorcycle-inspired theme, featuring “CARRYING POINT” and “INSERTION POINT” inscriptions that reference the attachment points used to secure the original MOTOCOMPO. With 100-metre water resistance and a lightweight 64 g construction, the watch combines practical everyday specifications with distinctive design details. It is supplied with a special presentation box inspired by the corrugated shipping carton used for the MOTOCOMPO, making it especially appealing to collectors.
