The Seiko Astron HAB009J1 and HAB010J1 are mechanically identical 5X63 GPS Solar limited editions. The real choice is colour. HAB009J1 goes green with yellow-gold-coloured accents; HAB010J1 goes burgundy with pink-gold-coloured accents.
Both use the same 43.4mm black-coated titanium case, sapphire crystal, 10-bar rating and easy-adjust titanium bracelet. Each is limited to 1,500 pieces. UAE pricing and allocation have not been confirmed.

HAB009J1 is the brighter option
Seiko describes HAB009J1 as inspired by crystals hidden inside jet-black rock. The green dial shifts toward turquoise in official regional copy, while yellow-gold-coloured hands and markers create the brighter of the two combinations.

HAB010J1 is darker and warmer
HAB010J1 keeps the same layout but changes the dial to burgundy and the accents to pink-gold colour. It is the quieter choice at first glance, though the warm metal tones are not exactly subtle once the light catches them.

The 5X63 platform is the serious part
Calibre 5X63 charges from light and can adjust the time zone through GPS reception. It also provides dual time, world time for 38 cities, a perpetual calendar, day display, power-reserve indication and a chronograph. Seiko states approximately six months of operation from a full charge, or about two years in power-save mode.
The regional product pages agree on the core functions but differ on the chronograph’s maximum timing duration, so this article does not repeat a disputed maximum. The practical point is unchanged: this is a travel-focused GPS Solar chronograph, not a simple three-hand Astron.
Size is the shared trade-off
Both watches measure 43.4mm across, 12.4mm thick and 50.0mm lug to lug. Titanium controls mass, but those are still broad dimensions. The low-centre-of-gravity design and bracelet adjustment may help, yet neither colourway becomes a compact watch.
The black titanium case uses Seiko’s super-hard coating, while the sapphire crystal receives a super-clear coating. LumiBrite appears on the hands and markers. A calf-leather strap is included, and the quick-change system lets the watch move away from the fully black bracelet look without tools.
The practical read Choose by dial, not specification. HAB009J1 is the brighter green-and-gold option; HAB010J1 is the darker burgundy-and-rose-gold option. Everything important underneath is shared.
Price and UAE availability
Seiko’s official UK store lists each reference at GBP 2,800 for release on 1 November 2026. Using the dated GBP/AED rate retrieved for this article, that is about AED 13,603.24. This is an indicative conversion, not official UAE retail, landed cost or a discount.
UAE allocation and local availability have not been confirmed. The Middle East pages establish both references and their specifications, but they do not currently give a UAE retail price or local stock date.
Verdict: choose green for contrast, burgundy for cohesion
HAB009J1 makes the stronger contrast with its green dial and yellow-gold-coloured details. HAB010J1 is more cohesive, pairing burgundy with pink-gold colour. There is no technical winner because the 5X63 movement, case and bracelet are the same.
The more important question is whether 43.4mm by 50.0mm works for you. If it does, pick the dial you would still want after the crystal story wears off. If it does not, neither colourway solves the fit.
